Rev. Jeanene Mutchler brings over fifteen years of extensive experience in parish and community ministry, most recently serving as Minister to Children, Youth, and Family at Idlewild Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to that, she served as an on staff minister at Creative Life Foundation in Bangkok, Thailand.  She has a biblical studies undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Waxahachie, TX and attended seminary at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, MA. She’s ordained through Metro Baptist Church of New York City, an alliance of Baptist Church.

Jeanene is married to Will Mutchler, an American Airlines pilot. They have two elementary aged children, Liam & Noel, and a dog named Digs. Outside of work, Jeanene loves to travel, enjoy the many beautiful hikes in the Hudson Valley, take the train to New York and visit the city, cook a good meal, and spend time with a nice beverage and a good book.

When asked why she was drawn to serving at Christ Church, Jeanene writes,

I love the diversity of thought in this congregation.  We have people of all political persuasions, faith backgrounds, and current life experiences.  It feels like a glimpse of the Kingdom of God to worship alongside people with so many different perspectives. It takes an extra dose of love and honest and safe conversations, but what an example to our world for us to practice our faith with one another.  It’s also such a privilege to live and worship in a place as picturesque as Quaker Hill.  God feels near to this place that has been so special to so many over the years.  I also admire that our ministry is not limited to the confines of our church doors. Our congregation is actively at work working together to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we serve in outreach.
